A Total Solar Eclipse occurred at the Moon’s ascending Node of the orbit on July 2, with a magnitude* of 1.0459. A solar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes through the shadow cast by the Moon which fully or partially blocks the Sun. This can only happen when the Sun, Moon, and Earth are nearly aligned on a straight line in three dimensions (known as syzygy) during a New Moon, when the Moon is close to the ecliptic plane. In a total eclipse, the disk of the Sun is fully obscured by the Moon.
*In astronomy, magnitude is a unitless measure of the brightness of an object in a defined passband,
often in the visible or infrared spectrum, but sometimes across all wavelengths. (Wikipedia)
The path of the July 2nd Total Solar Eclipse moves from west to east starting in the South Pacific and ending over land in South America. The focus for most of the Total Solar Eclipse will be Chile and Argentina. Because landfall happens near the end of the path of totality of the eclipse, it will be near sunset at approximately 12 degrees latitude above the horizon. The Total Solar Eclipse is significantly longer at sea for a maximum of 4 minutes and 33 seconds. Most of the eclipse path across the Pacific is far from any land, except near some southern islands of French Polynesia as well as Pitcairn Island, famous for a long-ago Mutiny on the Bounty.
An interesting circumstance is that the total solar eclipse ends at sunset in the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires making a direct hit to the Argentine natal Venus. The Earth’s next total solar eclipse will be Dec. 14, 2020, and it also will cross Chile and Argentina, though on a different path.
The July 2nd 2019, Total Solar Eclipse is part of the series of eclipses on the Cancer–Capricorn axis. These eclipses that began with the Partial Solar Eclipse at 20°30’ Cancer on July 13, 2018, shall continue throughout 2019, and into the early summer on June 21st, 2020, when they will be completed.
This cycle of eclipses in the Cancer-Capricorn axis align along the Heliocentric North Nodes of Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and the Invariable Plane.
- Heliocentric North Node of Jupiter at 10 Cancer
- Heliocentric North Node of Saturn at 23 Cancer
- Heliocentric North Node of Pluto at 20 Cancer
- The Invariable Plane is at 13-16 Cancer-Capricorn Axis
Historically, major world events and developments that upset the world balance of power have accompanied Solar Eclipse transits along the Cancer-Capricorn Axis. This series of Solar Eclipses along the Cancer-Capricorn Axis coincides with the gradual approach of the Saturn-Pluto alignment on January 12th 2020 (22 Capricorn) on the Heliocentric North Node of Pluto, seventeen days after the Annular Solar Eclipse of December 26, 2019 (4 Capricorn).
The July 2nd Total Solar Eclipse conjuncts the Heliocentric North Node of Jupiter at 10° Cancer. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, economic growth, capital formation, wealth creation, trade, and national prestige. Therefore, we can expect a continued intensification of the melt-up in the exchange markets with major index’s hitting record highs with investors more concerned about missing out on the momentum of the market rally than by deteriorating market fundamentals and weaker then expected economic data. The acceleration of the market melt-up in equities leading into the Solar Eclipse is a sign we are in the very late stage of a economic expansion market-cycle.
The Eclipse on Jupiter’s Heliocentric North Node signifies that global exchange markets was will be in significant danger due to excessive exuberance of Wall Street and misguided monetary policies by Federal Reserve (Fed). For the Solar Eclipse hit the Heliocentric North Node augurs the attempt to “relate” targeted markets to maintain the perception of economic growth and expansion, that will accelerate and intensify today’s financialization bubble, a.k.a – the “QE & ZIRP Bubble” or “Everything Bubble,” as a result on the Fed’s ultra-loose monetary policy for the past 10 years of taking on more debt and inflating new bubbles.
The July 2nd Solar Eclipse is a member of Saros Cycle 127. The 54-year Saros Cycle is an important cycle to consider when evaluating eclipses. In each Saros cycle the shadow of the eclipse moves westward on the surface of the earth by 120 degrees with every eclipse. After 3 eclipses in the same cycle, the shadow of the eclipse has moved 360 degrees and is visible from the same place on earth. This cycle tends to re-energize events from that previous era after 54 years.
Based on the table above, the July 2019 Solar Eclipses relate to events of 1965. In 1965, we saw the emergence of powerful populist empowerment movements such as the Civil Rights Movement with Martin Luther King, Jr. who led more than 3,000 civil rights demonstrators on the 50-mile march to from Selma, and the Voting Rights Act, guaranteeing African Americans the right to vote becomes law.
In 1965, the United States rapidly increased its military forces in South Vietnam, prompted by the realization that the South Vietnamese government was losing the Vietnam War as the communist-dominated Viet Cong gained influence over much of the population in rural areas of the country.
As American Vietnam military deployments and bombing in North Vietnam intensified, the University of California Berkeley hosts the largest anti-Vietnam teach-in.
In 1965, Lyndon B. Johnson announced the increase of the number of United States troops in South Vietnam from 75,000 to 125,000. This announcement galvanized a full-blown anti-war movement, resulting in a 35,000 march on Washington as a protest against the war.
In 1965, race riots break out in Watts, California leaving large parts of the city burnt and looted and 34 dead.
In 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson announces his program to create Medicare and to expand his war on poverty.
In 1965, the India and Pakistan military conflict continues to escalate and intensify.
In 1965, the US Higher Education Act became law. It was intended to strengthen the educational resources of US colleges and universities and to provide financial assistance to students in post secondary and higher education. The student loan system was part of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society program.
In 1965, several U.S. states (VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, NY and portions of NJ) and parts of Canada are hit by a series of blackouts lasting up to 13 1/2 hours, impacting over 30 million people.
In 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Immigration and Nationality Act into law, sweeping away a system that favored white Europeans over other races. It abolished quotas by national origin and allowed nearly 300,000 immigrants per year.
In 1965, NASA Ranger 8 crashes into the Moon after a successful mission of photographing possible landing sites for the Apollo program, and NASA continues the Gemini Space Program that lay the groundwork for an eventual manned mission to the moon and begins to surpass the Soviet Union in the Space Race to the Moon.
1965 Eclipse Events —> 2019 Eclipse Events
Based on the historical events of 1965 mentioned above, we may see the re-articulation of many of the same themes of high geopolitical tensions, and political animosity and turmoil will be the order of the day. However, we may see a renewed interest in the manned space program to build a large-scale based on the Moon, and a planned manned Mars Expedition using new propulsion technology.
We will likely see the emergence of a adversarial space race for dominance between the United States and Russia-China. Along with widening societal and class divisions do to economic inequality resulting in large-scale protest and riots. Escalating instability in the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia, with Iraq most at risk of returning to civil war, with Libya most likely to see non-state armed group fragmentation and alliances, and Sudan, most at risk of government collapse. Also Venezuela’s collapse remains possible, along with a standoff between China and the United States over the increased military activity in the South China Sea.
We are also likely to see an explosive burst of intellectual and artistic creativity in the collective psyche with the emergence of a new wave of musical artists because of a confluence of ideas, concepts, events, issues, and driven technology which act as a social catalyst for rapid change in the culture. We see an acceleration in the technological shift to an alternative digital currency systems for trade settlement that begins a major shift away from the fiat monetary system controlled by the world’s Central Banks.
