New Moon in Aquarius

The New Moon on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at 23°16′ coincides with Chinese New Year of the Metal Ox. The lunisolar Chinese calendar determines the date of the Chinese New Year. The Chinese calendar defines the lunar month containing the Winter Solstice as the eleventh month, which means that Chinese New Year usually falls on the second New Moon after the Winter Solstice (between January 21st and February 20th), marking that time when all Feng Shui adjustments and cures should be in place to properly benefit from the transitional energy of the new year.

The Chinese New Year public holiday celebration of the Metal Ox will be February 11–17, 2021. The Year of the Metal Ox in Chinese Astrology indicates that leadership will cooperate to restore economic stability and confidence in global economy and financial system. However, the metal element indicates change; therefore, while the post-COVID economy begins to slowly pick up, there will likely be changes to the economic system. These may involve things like the government transitioning to digital currency, universal basic income, and new economic relief programs by directing payment those who have been without a job for some time.

In the New Moon horoscope, the Saturn square Uranus aspect is present, indicating unexpected changes will occur along with disruptive innovations unfolding, moving society in a in radically different direction compared to the past decade. (Learn about the Saturn square Uranus and much more in the Global Outlook 2021 Webinar.) Because the Ox is a slow, peaceful animal, we should begin to see a slow but uneven economic recovery. However, if there is any sort of disturbance between nations (such as a resumption of a currency war, trade war, technology war, or economic war), then the flow of prosperity and velocity of wealth creation will drastically slow down and not be available.

Finally, the February New Moon is conjunct the fixed star Sadalsuud, Beta Aquarii, located on the left shoulder of the constellation of Aquarius, in the 11th Chinese Lunar Mansion – 虛 (Xū) Emptiness, auguring that the Year of Metal Ox will be transformational, indicating there will be a clear-cut turning point in ongoing narrative. Significant developments, often long in the making, will require that one can no longer be idle, remain ambivalent, or postpone matters, because the rendering of the accounts for the past year must be faced head on and the relative consequences must be addressed and paid.
