Robert Zoller, Picatrix, and Astrological Talismans since 2002

One day I’ll write about my studies with Robert Zoller as a young astrologer in the early 1990s (about 1992-1994), regularly going 2x/month to Zoller’s Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan for evening small group lessons.

In addition to group classes, I took regular private lessons with Rob in Medieval Alchemy, Astrological Magick, and Occult and Perennial Philosophy. I remember discussing the Picatrix with Rob before I encouraged Chris Warnock to publish the English translation of the grimoire from Latin with John Michael Greer. (In 2010 I coordinated the translation of Picatrix to Japanese by my late business partner, Ms. Yoko Eishima.)

In 2002, I elected and consecrated my first Astrological Talisman based on the Picatrix in New York City: Venus in Pisces, February 12, 2002, at 12:16 PM.

Since then I have elected and consecrated 126 Astrological Talismans for clients internationally.

Because of Rob Zoller, in my early astrological studies I also got more involved in psychological astrology based on Jung’s work, because he referred his then-girlfriend Michelle McGee, who was the librarian for the Jung Institute of New York, to me for a reading. Michelle encouraged me to get more involved with and attend events, workshops, and courses at the Jung Institute, which I did. Zoller also encouraged me to go to the NYC Kabbala Center, which I did, studying with the rabbis. As with all of my teachers in the early-mid ‘90s, including Bob Cook, Alphee Lavoie, and Rob Hand, regular studies with Rob Zoller clearly shaped the trajectory of my astrological work over the past 30 years.

The 2nd Astrological Talisman I ever elected and consecrated was the Sun in Aries Talisman on March 24, 2002 at 10:57 AM in Tudor City, New York, NY.

  1. Ive got the picatrix and i think a lot of it has been lost in translation since the original. Do you know if anyone has done a direct translation of it from the Arabic version?
